Cabello by Grea Alexander5/30/2023 Barnes & Noble: It’s where I ride around in heavy armor and charge at windmills with my quill…Don Quixote style. Ok, so it's a seedy, faux physical address store front where I get my mail. LibraryThing: 36 reviews with an overall rating of 4.11. īookbub: where they begrudgingly email notifications of my new releases to my followers. Goodreads: 200+ ratings/reviews with an average rating of 4.xx and over 21,000 books shelved. Then again, you just might feel naughty and want to read them anyway. If you find such offensive, you might not want to read my work. My books contain adult themes, adult situations, sexual situations, cursing, intoxication and violence. My books are very character-driven with a focus on flawed, dynamic, culturally-diverse characters and strong, smart female protagonists.Īlso, please note: I do not write children's books. On dublin street similar books5/30/2023 Why did I keep reading? Because it had a cute subplot, even though even THAT romance had elements of emotional abuse. After the initial tension exploded there was a lot of angst. And then he becomes Mr Intense Stalker.Īnd what the hell was with Joss!? What a complete moron. It was off to a cute start, girl meets guy, sparks fly, bit of steamy tension. WHAT THE HELL IS SO APPEALING ABOUT THESE MALE CHARACTERS!!? How come in a “romance” book, “No” means “push me until I cave in” and HOW IS THAT ROMANTIC!? Joss has a lot of issues and has trouble letting anyone in, but Braden will force (literally) his way into her heart. She finds a nice house and housemate on Dublin Street and there starts her encounter with Braden, her housemates brother. She moves to Scotland and is attempting to write a book. So Joss has a rough childhood, losing both parents and her best friend in a few short years. “Something with a nice safe high goodreads rating…” EPIC FAIL “I’ll find a nice romance!” I said to myself. I finished a book and only rated it 1 star! I never thought I would get to the point of continuing on if I really disliked something that much, but here we are. Personally I don’t like to give a rating to a book if I haven’t read every word and had the full experience… Well, it’s finally happened. Not because I enjoy every book, but I tend to abandon books I am not enjoying. On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street #1) – Samantha Young (2012)

Life together bonhoeffer amazon5/30/2023 They are usually introverts, not as comfortable in crowds. There are many Christians who choose to live out their faith mostly on their own. The Christian life is not meant to be lived out alone – it is meant to be experienced within a community of believers. Love one another…Honor one another…Encourage one another. There are more than 24 times where Paul instructs us to live out “one another:” We find this principle 17 more times in the other New Testament letters: In Part 1 I highlighted “allelous” in Paul’s letters. This is why there are many rebukes for arrogance in the Sayings of the Desert Fathers (see Part 3). When a Christian is more comfortable being alone with an independent faith, it oftentimes comes from spiritual arrogance. We have seen in Part 2 and Part 3 examples of how Christian individualism can become extreme. Prayer is sometimes peaceful, sometimes painful. Individualism in the Extreme Photo: | cottonbro-studio. The individual must make choices for themselves. In the end, the nature of Christian faith is personal.

Batman nightwalker review5/30/2023 Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo was the first, and Batman will be followed by Superman by Matt de la Peña and Catwoman by Sarah J. I was also obligated to read it as fast as humanly possible as my dad was desperate to get his hands on it.īatman: Nightwalker is the second in the DC Icons four book YA series brought together by Random House. We even met the original Batman Adam West when I was a baby! So, I knew I would love this book and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in, especially as I fell in love with Marie’s previous release, Warcross. With my dad being a huge comic book fan I’ve grown up with superheroes, and Batman has always been a favourite of mine and my dad’s. In late 2017 I received a copy of Batman: Nightwalker* by Marie Lu (thank you Penguin, especially Sarah!) and I’m so grateful because this was definitely an anticipated release of mine! I was majorly excited when I saw the parcel sat in my porch and ripped it open with more enthusiasm than was probably necessary.

Lockdown escape the furnace5/30/2023 Though the two are forced to work together, they don't always get along the greatest. When he comes into contact with Simon, this becomes a problem. If when he's annoyed, he can snap very easily. When even Zee gets quiet, either with sadness or nervousness, you know you're pretty much screwed.Īside from his almost constant optimism, Zee is very hotheaded. Alex describes on many occasions that he couldn't have escaped without Zee, not only because of his physical contributions, but because his optimistic attitude towards life overall kept everyone's spirits high. Even in very stressful times, like in the pursuit of the Blacksuits, he's always got a quip ready. Zee is quick witted and makes a great comic relief. "Christ, Alex, what have they done to your brain? You don't remember Star Wars?" - Zee, Death Sentence It is also mentioned that Zee has bright blue eyes. It's mentioned on multiple occasions that Zee has an accent. He has dark hair, but not specified whether it is brown or black. Zee Hatcher is described as shorter than Alex, but wider, and slightly broader-chested than him.

Memoirs From the Asylum by Kenneth Weene5/30/2023 If there is one think I’ve learned from years working as a psychologist, it is that we humans are story-creators. Using my training as a psychologist in the writing of Memoirs From the Asylum His wife, Rosalyn Weene, is a well known painter whose work has been shown in Europe and throughout the United States Happily married for thirty-four years, the Weenes have one “adopted” son and two grandchildren. A psychologist by profession, he has also published a number of papers in that field. His essays have been picked up by a few newspapers, especially on Long Island, New York, where he was living. An anthology of Ken’s work, Songs For My Father, was published 2002. His poetry has appeared in a number of magazines and on the web. He soon branched out to include short stories, plays, and essays. Throughout his career Ken has also been devoted to writing. He started writing poetry to help him deal with mid-life. Ken is a New Englander by upbringing and inclination and his career – primarily in New York – included teaching, pastoral care, and psychology. His first novel, Widow’s Walk, was published in 2009. Today I’m welcoming Kenneth Weene to Ascroft, eh? to talk about how he used his psychology training in writing his second novel, Memoirs From The Asylum.
